The Presidential Decree of October 5, 2004 (No. 1178/2004) established a professional holiday in Ukraine — the Day of Employees of the State Sanitary and Epidemiological Service.

State sanitary-epidemiological supervision covers all spheres of human activity: living conditions, work, nutrition, recreation, upbringing and education of children and adolescents.Therefore, the sanitary-epidemiological service occupies a key position in the country's health care system.

This year is special because this year marks the 100th anniversary of the founding of their profession.
